Company Summary:

Click Brush Club will be a subscription service for makeup brushes. The idea is similar to Dollar Shave Club; after signing up, subscribers will be provided with a complete set of makeup brushes with removable brush heads. Fresh brush heads will be sent each month to replace the old. Our goal is to help consumers avoid the hassle of cleaning brushes and still maintain necessary sanitation of makeup tools. We also are doing some discovery on a recycling program for the used brush heads and are still deciding the most viable path to take.

What made you choose this kind of business?

The idea came about in an entrepreneurship class last spring. My business partner sparked the idea, and we continued to brainstorm more throughout the semester until the idea became what it is today. As a busy individual on the go, I rarely can find time to wash my brushes as often as they need to be, but I also cannot convince myself to purchase entirely new brushes so often, not to mention the waste it would produce. There is a need for this solution and I can relate to it personally.

How do you plan on growing your business?

We currently are doing more discovery on recycling programs and secondary markets. In the future, we also hope to team with other recent startups through the subscription service, and allow our consumers to explore with products that are new to the market as well. We are starting small but have high hopes for this idea.

Do you have a team? If so, how did you build a team?

My partner, Soua Vang, and I met in an entrepreneurship class last semester where we began with the initial idea.

If you had to give one piece of advice to a fellow entrepreneur what would it be?

Don't think small; keep your perceptions wide and be open to any new idea that may arise through a discovery process. I am still conducting a lot of research and doing more discovery, and keeping an open mind while asking as many questions as I can is helping me through that process.

What is a mistake that you look back at and wish you could've avoided?

In some of our beginning stages, we spent a lot of time getting lost in the financials before having our solid idea set. Looking back, we could have saved some time and stress by focusing on the main solution to the corresponding need, then continuing to go from there. However, it was still all part of the discovery phase, and ultimately we still learned from it.

What is a quote or mantra you live by?

"The grass is greener where you water it." If you want something, you need to dedicate your time and efforts to it!
